LOCALISATION
I've been working in translation and localisation across the tech start-up space for over ten years now, most notably as Chief Language Services Officer at what3words. I've worked with thousands of linguists across nearly 100 languages, crafting messages for audiences around the world. Many of them have become personal friends; all of them have brought a unique perspective and taught me something I didn't know. I've been hugely fortunate to travel to over 30 countries for work, giving me a detailed and nuanced perspective on language, culture and the curation of global content.

Localisation can be a bewildering prospect - it can sometimes feel like you've been dropped in an unfamiliar city without a map, friend or plan (I've been there!). I know how hard it is to let go, to hand your content to a translator and trust they'll treat it with the love and attention you gave it in the first place. To trust your message will land just as well with a new and unknown, non-English-speaking, audience.

You also need to access a whole new toolkit - the technology needed to underpin a fully internationalised product, the expertise to ensure this fits within your existing architecture, and robust, scalable processes to provide confidence and efficiency. This is second nature to me.

Getting localisation right first time, before those plans for world domination kick in, will save you time and money, protect your brand reputation, and act as the springboard to worldwide success! Drop me a line to find out how we can work together and take your content wherever it needs to go.
